Be a Physicist! with SpectrUM –

- Join folks from the SpectrUM Discovery Area as they lead fun activities around the science of physics! Children and their families will learn new things, perform experiments, and receive take-home kits for continued science fun at home.

Flower Power!
Sat 8/12/2023 11:00 AM-1:00 PM (This one is on a Saturday)
- Part of the All Together Now Summer Learning Program. Learn about local wildflowers and pollinators while painting your own flower pot! Children and their families will leave with their own personalized pot, soil, and seeds to grow their own wildflowers at home. Take-home kits will be provided for those who cannot stay for the program.

Community Rocks

-Part of the All Together Now Summer Learning Program. Show the Potomac community how much it ROCKS by painting…rocks! Children and their families can stop by the Potomac Branch and pick out a rock to paint and place around the community. Seeing these rocks in the wild lets us know that while Potomac may be small, it is strong! As you find rocks around the community, take a picture and share it with the Potomac Branch Facebook page!

Chalk the Walk

- As summer starts winding down, let’s remind ourselves (and each other) that we got this! Grab some chalk and “Chalk the Walk” in front of the library with messages and pictures of kindness, positivity, and happiness! Chalk and snacks will be provided for children and their families.

Kindness Trees and Paper Chains

- Help us celebrate the All Together Now Summer Learning Program with acts of kindness by adding leaves to our Kindness Tree! Watch it grow all summer long as we celebrate acts of kindness together. Take-home kits will be available to children and their families who can’t stay for the program. Trees not your thing? We will also have a Kindness Paper Chain! Add your own link with acts of kindness you have performed recently. You can stop by the Potomac Branch all summer long to continue adding leaves and chain links.
3rd Grade Ukulele
Mini-Concert
3rd grade will have a mini-concert to showcase their ukulele talents on
Wednesday, May 31 at 10:30 in the gym.

8th Grade Raffle 2022-23
Thank you to everyone who participated in our 8th grade raffle.
The drawing was May 1 and the winners are:

Our Annual Book Fair was a huge success!
We had $4,389.99 in total sales which resulted in $2,195.00 Scholastic Dollars earned! Scholastic Dollars are used to purchase books for classrooms, birthday books, classroom novel sets, as well as other classroom materials.
This is a fantastic way to support our classrooms and student learning!

Fort Missoula History Day Competition
Congratulations to all the 6th-8th graders who participated in the Fort Missoula History Day competition. They did an amazing job and represented their school and community well. There were 112 students present and over 60 total entries from exhibits, documentaries, performances, websites, and papers.
Potomac had two Group Exhibits place. Elisa and Claire 4th Place for their project Corp of Discovery and Oliver and David 3rd place for their project The Nuremberg Trials: Holding Criminals Accountable.
